Ideas for Christmas...Retro Inflatable Animals

These inflatable animals are on display with the rest of their creator’s toys at Musée des Arts Décoratifs’ Toy Gallery in Paris no less! And for good reason, these toys were originally designed by the famous Czech toy designer Libuse Niklova (1934-1981) in the early seventies, but now due to popular demand they have been re-introduced. The animals can be used as children’s chairs or pool toys. And not just for kids. Because of their happy design there are students who have them in their rooms at Uni and they sit next to the telly in living-rooms. They even tour with a rock band. How cool is that?

Click here to see some footage filmed in the late '70s on 8mm film. Its taken from a family video showing children having great fun with these great toys.

These animals have their place in history but are here again today made with the original moulds by the big Fatra company (better known for roof tiles) and now produced with the European safety CE mark. They make an ideal stocking filler for Christmas!
